RFID
Business globalization is a rapidly progressing trend, which brings new challenges to all industries in all geographies. Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is increasingly used to enable information visibility and operational precision. This seminar will give an overview of the technical and business aspects of RFID, its position among identification technology standards, various case studies, and the latest developments. Furthermore, deeper looks into certain aspects of RFID will be added to the agenda pending results of a related AgGateway-member survey. The seminar will be led by two of the world’s foremost RFID experts, Dr. Bill Hardgrave, Dean, College of Business, Auburn University; and Sue Hutchinson, Director, Industry Adoption, EPCglobal US. Whether you’re new to RFID or an expert eager to learn about the latest developments, this seminar is for you!
Identification in Agriculture
The ability to provide global visibility within the supply chain is a critical component in improving your company’s efficiency as well the entire industry’s. Challenges precipitated by pending government regulations for product safety compliance, recalls, and tracking and tracing of products is presenting a new set of demands on our time and efficient daily operations. Uniquely identifying your products and locations with globally accepted commercial standards creates an environment where all products can be tracked and traced throughout every step of the supply chain, from raw materials, to processing, and through to the consumer. This session will help you understand how standard identifiers can be used to uniquely identify your products and locations so that clean and accurate data can be leveraged to address these new challenges, as well as how AGIIS enables unique identification within the agriculture industry. The speakers will provide information on the GS1 Global Trade Item Number (GTIN), the Global Location Number (GLN), and other unique identifiers as well as information about how they can be used by your company in barcode, RFID/Electronic Product Code and other technologies and processes. Don’t miss this informative and thought-provoking session.
