Latin America Update: Strengthening Partnership with Embrapa

AgGateway and its associate member Embrapa Digital Agriculture recently met to discuss the challenges of digital agriculture, and to further strengthen the partnership between the two entities. AgGateway Regional Director José Alexandre Loyola spent time at the at the headquarters of Embrapa Agricultura Digital in Campinas/SP last month for a meeting with new Head of the organization, Stanley Oliveira.

The following areas of cooperation were discussed:

  • Embrapa will work to promote free technologies developed to help rural producers make better decisions in their business.the
  • Embrapa will Introduce and recommend AgGateway to entities and professionals from other countries in the Latin America region which have the same objective as Embrapa. The goal is to solicit association with AgGateway, thus expanding our presence with entities in digital agriculture in other countries in the region.
  • Embrapa will promote and use AgGateway’s logo in institutional events, valuing the fact that they are members of AgGateway in this environment of Digital Agriculture.

AgGateway also launched a new series of “live” webcasts last month on YouTube, featuring a conversation with two Embrapa executives: Stanley Oliveira Head of Digital Agriculture; and Vitor Mondo, Head of Technology Transfer. The session, titled “Research and Public-Private Partnership in Brazil,” is available on the YouTube Channel for on-demand replay.
