Roundtable Discussions Will Deliver Big Value at Mid-Year Meeting

By Jeremy Wilson, EVP/COO and North American Director

Hello, and welcome back to another edition of Director’s Download! May is here and spring is upon us. On my farm, we got early dry weather that allowed us to plant pretty much everything here in southern Illinois, then the flood gates opened … literally. Email me after you read this if you are interested in some newly created lakefront property. Seriously, I hope spring is treating you well wherever you are.

So, the coming of May is also a wake-up call that the North America Mid-Year Meeting is just around the corner. If you haven’t registered yet, now’s the time! It’s going to be a terrific meeting, and not unlike the Annual Meeting and Conference we are adding some additional twists to the experience make sure you are getting excellent value for your conference investment.

The clear consensus from feedback we got after the Annual Conference was that you love the networking opportunities that we provided in the form of breakout groups and focused discussion. We have two topical discussions, one on Monday afternoon and another on Tuesday afternoon, that will break attendees into assigned breakout groups to discuss critical industry topics and how they relate to the work of AgGateway.

We are still working out the exact topics, but something that is front and center for many is, “How do we get clean data?” Whether that's from a B2B messaging standpoint, or whether that's field data collection, or other areas, folks talk to me about what can we do to provide better, cleaner data that we are intending to share.

I'm also looking for other topics you'd like to discuss, and so if you have something that you think would be good for a roundtable discussion, please email me or call me so we can add that to the list.

The other thing that I'd like to call out is a new session that's being led by Julie Benick and Scott Meredith focused on Ag Retail. Attendees will brainstorm topics to discuss to start the meeting. After the group whittles the list down to two, Julie and Scott will break the group into teams to work through the topics and report back to everyone.

We also have working group meetings and a general session presentation in the mix, so check out the most current agenda here to see what else is happening.

Mid-Year Meeting will continue its traditional “working meeting” formant with working group teams gathering to move forward on key projects. But overall, we're going to be focused on networking opportunities, because you, our membership, told us that's what you were looking for.

It’s going to be amazing, and I can’t wait to shake your hand in Altoona!
