As we turn the corner into late summer, the Portfolio Management Center has been buzzing with progress and collaboration across multiple fronts. I also had the opportunity to be out and about at some industry events, sharing updates and driving awareness of everything we have going on.

Connections at Tech Hub Live
Tech Hub Live offered a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry peers, share AgGateway’s progress, and encourage new participants to engage. From impromptu discussions at networking events to focused conversations around digital ag adoption, the was a definite interest in coming together to collaboratively address issues in the industry.

Entity ID
Jim Wilson is working on distilling all the documentation and discussion from the past calls, face-to-face meetings, and individual discussions down into a report for the working group to review. This will provide clear documentation on the issues and challenges with identifying unique growers and most importantly the topics where the team has found agreement. From there the group can discuss the best options to choose a path forward to begin to resolve the issue.

Data Ethics White Paper Released
The AgGateway Data Ethics White Paper was posted to the AgGateway website. The paper reflects months of thoughtful discussion and will serve as a resource to guide discussions across the industry on how to integrate data ethics into every step of system design. Make sure to share with your peers and drop me a note if you have any questions or comments.

Field Operations Controlled Vocabulary Working Group Kickoff
We're gearing up to launch the Field Operations Controlled Vocabulary Working Group, helping to address another major interoperability issue in the industry. This effort will provide a framework for identifying field operations to ensure the meaning is shared as data moves from system to system. Stay tuned for kickoff details in the coming weeks!

Planning for Modus v2 Schema Development
We’re preparing to convene stakeholders for the initial planning session on Modus v2 schema development. This next iteration will address key feedback from implementers and fill gaps identified as the previous working groups updated method lists to the v2 structure You can sign up for the upcoming meetup on 20 August by clicking here.

Get Engaged
On other note, we recently added a new signup form. There is now a clearer way to get engaged with standing committees, not just working groups. If you want to join any of those teams, follow this link. Most committees are open for any member to participate, if there are any special requirements Member Services will follow up after you request to join.
