Key Long-Term Topics in Focus

I invested in bifocal glasses in February. Aside from the reminder of years passing and eyes wearing out, the purchase prompted reflection on vision – specifically, organizational vision.

AgGateway was founded over 20 years ago by individuals and organizations with a vision of how connectivity and efficiency lead to more profitable business. Our volunteers presented at conferences on the dollars and time saved by implementing agreed-upon, standardized business messages. Volunteers identified the need for improved documentation and exchange of field operations records. We recognized early on that we didn’t have all the answers or even represent all the channels where farm outputs travel after harvest. So, we partnered with peers and hosted international collaborative efforts to ensure the work done in AgGateway is compatible with those other data exchange processes. Read more >

Inside Agenda Changes for Mid-Year Meeting

AGIIS Directory Oversight Committee Seeks Volunteers

The Ag Industry Identification System (AGIIS) Directory Oversight Committee (DOC) is currently seeking volunteers. The DOC provides general oversight of the AGIIS Directory, including reviewing, approving, and prioritizing system enhancements, as well as ensuring that annual maintenance and disaster recovery exercises are completed. Latin America Update

March Outreach and Regional Meeting

As the Brazilian soybean harvest season hits its peak this month I am looking forward to meeting with members and stakeholders at key agriculture events.

On 5 March I will represent AgGateway Latin America at the first in-person meeting of the Agrodigital Innovation Thematic Chamber (CTIAD) of the Ministry of Agriculture in Brasília/DF. I will have the opportunity to talk about the important connectivity and interoperability work and initiatives of our organization to the members of this Committee. This Chamber aims to foster technological innovation, rural connectivity, training, and finance (Agrofintechs) with the goal of strengthening ag technology ecosystems. Read more >
