AgGateway will be showcasing progress that partners and members are making toward greater data interoperability next month as it hosts its Europe Region 2022 Mid-Year Meeting on 2 June at the headquarters of Syngenta in Basel, Switzerland. A full day of meetings and networking opportunities will provide attendees with high-value interactions and learning experiences.

“Accurate and interconnected data makes carbon sequestration and sustainability programs achievable, and helps producers meet current and future regulatory reporting requirements,” says Conny Graumans, AgGateway’s Europe Region Director. “AgGateway is bringing leading organizations together to create and sustain industry supported initiatives that will improve data integrity and utility for producers and their trusted partners.”

The preliminary main program will feature the following speakers and topic areas:

  • Brent Kemp, President and CEO of AgGateway, will share an organizational update featuring an overview of industry needs and opportunities in interoperability, and current initiatives the association is pursuing globally.
  • Peter van der Vlugt, General Manager and CTO - Innovation Center Europe with Kubota, highlights recent developments in improving the interoperability in data exchange with tractors, machinery, and equipment in agriculture.
  • Jens Möller, General Manager with DKE-Data GmbH & Co. KG, will present about the planned strategic developments of DKE-Data and provide an update about the Agrirouter platform.
  • Gerard van der Hoeven, Executive Director at the iShare Foundation, discusses his organization’s work on connected data with partner organizations. iShare is a “protocol” – a trusted framework that allows an entity to prove itself as a trusted party. iShare supports GAIA X and the European Agricultural Data Space, and Block Chain technology is used to register the trusted parties. The iShare initiative is Supported by the European Commission.
  • Gaëlle Cheruy, Chief Service Officer with Agdatahub, will share how authentication and authorization (permission management) is implemented in France, including the API AGRO Platform, the Agriconsent platform, and Numeric Identity. She will also address how this work relates to ongoing and future European regulation, GAIA X, and the Agriculture Data Space.
  • Joachim Crombez, Europe Territory Manager with Proagrica, will talk about the track and trace of farm inputs, and the provenance of agricultural produce.

In addition, parallel breakout sessions will be offered covering two key areas of focus for the Europe Region Meeting:

  • Track & trace issues in supply chains
  • Field identifiers, field boundaries, and work records in field operations
