Here are a few updates from AgGateway’s Latin America Region.

On April 17, AgGateway held a meeting in Latin America (via videoconference) to debate, discuss and validate the next steps of the ground laboratory data standardization project initiative in the Latin America region. Ronaldo Oliveira of EMBRAPA Solos was elected by the group to lead this initiative, and to represent the group in the next discussions and meetings.

On May 5, in order to continue the bi-monthly meetings of members from the Latin American region, we changed the face-to-face format to online due to the current situation at Covid-19 and promoted a video conference, inviting all members to participate. The agenda included presentation of the results of the satisfaction survey of AgGateway in Latin America, referring to the year 2019; and the status of the projects and discussion with two major grain production companies in Brazil, which are end users of agriculture digital (SLC Agrícola and GAPS). For the latter, our objective was to better understand the advantages, difficulties and expectations of each technology and direct the necessary initiatives to be worked on in the Latin America region in 2020. No último dia 17 de abril, a AgGateway promoveu na América Latina, uma reunião (via videoconferência) para debater, discutir e validar os próximos passos da iniciativa do projeto de padronização de dados de laboratório de solo, na região da América Latina. O Sr. Ronaldo Oliveira da EMBRAPA Solos, foi eleito pelo grupo, como líder desta iniciativa, para representar o grupo nas próximas discussões e reuniões.

No próximo dia 5 de maio, para darmos continuidade nas reuniões bimensais dos membros da região da América Latina, iremos mudar o formato presencial para on-line devido a situação atual da Covid-19 e promover uma videoconferência, convidando todos os membros para participar. Teremos na pauta, a apresentação do resultado da pesquisa de satisfação da AgGateway na América Latina, referente ao ano de 2019, o status dos projetos e a apresentação e discussão com duas grandes empresas de produção de grãos do Brasil, que são usuários finais de agricultura digital ( A SLC Agrícola e o GAPS) com o objetivo de entendermos melhor as vantagens, dificuldades e expectativas de cada tecnologia e direcionarmos as iniciativas necessárias para serem trabalhadas na região da América Latina, em 2020.
