Arlington, VA, November 10, 2021 – AgGateway, a global non-profit organization leading the industry's transition to digital agriculture, announced today that Paul Schrimpf is joining the organization as its new Director of Marketing and Communications, effective January 1, 2022.
Schrimpf, an award-winning journalist, has covered the agriculture market since 1998. He comes to AgGateway from his position as Group Editor of the Agribusiness Group at Meister Media Worldwide, where he has led an editorial team covering the ag retail distribution channel under the CropLife brand, the ag technology sector through its PrecisionAg brand, and the global crop protection and plant health industry through the AgriBusiness Global brand.
“We’re thrilled to have Paul join the AgGateway team. We know he’ll play a dynamic, integral part in the organization’s work in increasing digital connectivity,” said AgGateway President and CEO Wendy Smith. “Paul’s skills, his deep understanding of the companies involved in digital transformation, and his dedication to this industry’s advances in digital agriculture all make him ideally suited to help with this essential work.”
“Meister Media is proud of the longstanding relationship and shared commitments with AgGateway to advancing the adoption and value creation of ag technologies for agribusiness around the world,” said Richard Jones, Meister Media Worldwide Corporate Content Director. “We are pleased that in his new role, Paul will continue to work toward these same goals that AgGateway and Meister share for the industries we serve.”
“As Meister Media Worldwide has developed its industry leadership position in the ag technology and precision space over the past three decades, Paul has been instrumental both within our company and in the industry, helping to accelerate the development and successful adoption of truly useful technology tools for growers, retailers and the entire agricultural chain,” Jones said.
Schrimpf joined Meister Media Worldwide in 1998 as Editor, Ag Consultant and Senior Editor, Farm Chemicals. Jones noted that Schrimpf was instrumental in the rebranding of Farm Chemicals to CropLife and its transformation into a leading brand in the market. “During his tenure, Paul was a key driver in building out Meister Media’s position in the precision ag space, helped launch the PrecisionAg® VISION Conference, Tech Hub LIVE, and other events, and has been a leader in executing the CropLife℠ PACE Initiative,” Jones said.
At AgGateway, Schrimpf will be responsible for efforts to promote the organization and its global activities to the membership and the industry, in order to further AgGateway’s mission to drive digital connectivity in global agriculture and related industries.
