After two years of virtual summer gatherings, the return of AgGateway’s Mid-Year Meeting to a fully in-person event is just six weeks away. While the Conference Committee has been hard at work planning a high-value program for attendees, AgGateway staff, members, and volunteers are building out Working Group and Committee sessions that will move the needle on interoperability initiatives and data standardization efforts in key areas of need for the agriculture industry.

This isn’t the typical “sit in your chair and stare, death by PowerPoint” event. The Mid-Year Meeting provides an opportunity for members and stakeholders to come together to get work done. This is the time to get in the same room at the same time with fellow AgGateway colleagues to hash out issues and develop solutions in a way that simply can’t be done remotely.
Here are four reasons to join us in Iowa this summer:
1. Maintain and Boost Your Participation in Key Projects
There are a number of pressing agenda items to be covered in Working Groups, Subcommittees, and Meet-Ups, including:
As CEO Brent Kemp always says, “Be involved in the work – if you’re not there, your voice won’t be heard.”

2. Catch the Pre-Conference Workshop
Land O’Lakes leadership will be conducting a special workshop for AgGateway Mid-Year Attendees titled, “Tackling Adoption Barriers Beyond Technology.” It’s very common in retail to run up against internal barriers to automation that have nothing to do with the technology itself. The potential benefits of retail automation such as seed and crop protection e-fulfillment may be clear, but factors such as a lack of value understanding by key leadership, poor buy-in from the top, and misalignment of B2B opportunities with current processes often scuttle adoption.
In this special workshop, participants will have the opportunity to share their own challenges and successes and gain insight from peers on how they are working through these issues. Small group activities and a full group wrap-up to discuss key takeaways will ensure this is a valuable and enduring learning experience.
3. Matt Carstens Keynote at the General Session
As CEO of Iowa-based cooperative Landus Ag, Carstens has been a vocal advocate for the critical role of the retailer, and the power of embracing digital connectivity to help organizations realize the full value of innovation. His passionately delivered message will cover how progressive thinking and collaboration with trusted partners can help build streamlined, high-functioning retail organizations.
4. Networking, Networking, Networking.
From breakfasts and lunches to breaks and receptions, the Mid-Year Meeting is an opportunity to get fully caught up with colleagues, peers, and thought leaders in every aspect of agriculture interoperability. It’s been two long years … let’s Engage, Create, and Grow at the AgGateway Mid-Year Meeting!
