On September 6th, members representing the LATAM Region of AgGateway gathered at the AgTech Garage, an important, world renowned agriculture innovation hub based in Piracicaba, São Paulo. In partnership with leading companies in their segments, the AgTech Garage catalyzes innovation toward connected, collaborative, and agile systems.
John Deere opened its space in AgTech Garage to more than 30 AgGateway members. AgGateway progress around the world were presented, and an initiative by Embrapa Digital Agriculture on distance education in precision agriculture was discussed. AgGateway member Meteoblue provoked a discussion and reflection on the accuracy of data that is currently utilized in Brazil.
Also presented and proposed with the agreement of all members was an AgGateway project proposal for the validation of climate forecast models based on technical criteria that guarantee the quality of the data that will be used by meteorology companies, consultants, companies, and the producer.
The group also participated in a lecture on innovation with Thiago Salgado, Consultant and Board Member at local brewer CBCA. They got the opportunity to see the operation up-close and enjoy some of the company’s finished product.
