AGIIS Learning Series 1: Search Tips

By Nikki Marshall, Member Services Program Manager

In the July AGIIS Update, we talked about using this forum to provide AGIIS subscribers with various tips and tricks for a more successful user experience. This is the first of our multi-part series and I hope you will find it valuable, informative, and worth your read.

To start off, I would like to begin with the basics: A simple entity search using the web interface.

As a Directory Administrator, and someone who frequently searches for entity records, I have found that I have the most success finding what I need using the following search method. If I am searching for a retail location at 1234 Main St, in postal code 66216 for example, I conduct my search as shown in the screenshot below, using only the street number and postal code. If any entities exist in AGIIS with this street number and postal code, it will undoubtably be displayed.

Alternatively, I can enter only the postal code to receive back a list of entities that have a physical or mailing address with the postal code entered. I can then use the “find” function (CTRL+F) to enter the entity name or other demographics to see if the entity is contained within my search results. AGIIS also supports the “wildcard” function to search for entities that contain the word or number you’ve entered.

Lastly, don’t forget that the Help option is available on all pages in AGIIS! Clicking the “Help” tab, then “Help for this page” will provide you definitions, requirements, and visuals to help you complete searches, adds, and updates in AGIIS. As always, the Member Services team is always ready and willing to help, so please don’t hesitate to contact us at Member.Services@AgGateway.org.
