LATAM Region

A Busy September of Networking

By José Alexandre F. Loyola, Latin America Director

September was an exciting month of networking and visiting with members and technology stakeholders as I travelled across the region to key agriculture events in the Latin America region.

  1. The AgGateway Latin America Steering Committee hosted an excellent discussion about current trends and future planning. We established some tactics to be adopted for the year ahead for each of the three pillars of strategic planning: Create, Engage, and Grow.
  2.  I was able to participate in the Agrihub Summit event held in Cuiabá/MT promoted by our associate member AgriHub (photo below). Attendees received a preview of a survey farmer survey featuring producers from State of MT about their views on innovation.
  3. At the invitation of the associate member Conectar Agro, I represented AgGateway at a meeting at the Cubo space in São Paulo/SP on 27 September. Attendees shared the current challenges with rural connectivity in Brazil and the opportunities available with improved wireless service.

This week will kick off another busy month as I travel to Piracicaba/SP to attend the AgTech Meeting 2024 event, promoted by our member PwC AgTech Innovation. I am expecting to participate ina a discussion of important topics around trends and challenges of Digital Agriculture in Brazil.

Have an outstanding October, and if you have any questions or concerns feel free to reach out to me.
