By Jose Alexandre Loyola, Region Director
With 11 members in attendance, another in-person Members' Meeting was held on 12 August at the Luiz de Queiroz College of Agriculture (ESALQ). Members were brought up to speed on the AgGateway 2026-2030 Strategic Plan and discuss ongoing projects at the organization globally.
Other highlights of the meeting included an overview of the Carbon Research Center in Tropical Agriculture (CCarbon), and a lecture by Professor José Molin of ESALQ on the topic, "The Directions of Digital Solutions to Increase Precision (Assertiveness) in Agriculture." The event concluded with a visit to the precision agriculture laboratory and the School's main building, where they met with the vice-director, Professor Milan.
I also had the opportunity to take part in an event celebrating Digital Agriculture Day on 28 August. I participated in the panel, "How is the Innovation Ecosystem Supporting the Generation and Transfer of Digital Technologies to the Field in Your Institution's View?" at the event, promoted by member Embrapa Digital Agriculture and IICA in Campinas/Sao Paolo.
