By Chris Crutchfield, AGIIS Product Manager
In this month’s AGIIS Directory Oversight Committee (DOC) meeting, we had some good discussion surrounding Global Location Number (GLN) usage and duplicate prevention. This led to a conversation about applying updates from AGIIS to your company’s internal systems. Regularly applying updates not only ensures accurate and efficient orders, billing and delivery, it also helps to reduce new GLN creation and helps prevent the introduction of duplicates in AGIIS.
Today, 60% of eligible subscribers are receiving a daily, weekly, or monthly update extract. This means that many are still not synchronizing with AGIIS. The DOC asked that communication go out to subscribers that outlines the importance of synchronizing with AGIIS and steps that can be taken to begin an ongoing synchronization process.
AGIIS users should be on the lookout for this communication in the coming days. We will explain why synchronization matters, how to begin a synchronization process, what data elements should be synchronized, the importance of ongoing maintenance, and some pitfalls to avoid when starting out.
