Gateway to Ag Careers

Last Chance for Nominations

By Kristin Nottingham, Software Solutions Integrated, LLC

Nominations for the Gateway to Ag Careers grant are due September 15th!

Most summer interns have probably packed up and headed back to school, so now that your office is back to normal, please take a moment to reflect on your interns. Did you have a student who showed strong initiative and leadership? Would he or she benefit from attending the Annual Conference in San Diego, California? If so, nominate him or her for the Gateway to Ag Careers grant.

During the conference, awarded students will have a valuable opportunity to network with other AgGateway members and receive real-world experience in an ag business meeting. The grant provides each awarded student with roundtrip airfare, accommodations at the conference hotel, and conference registration fees. For more information or to fill out a nomination form, visit the Gateway to Ag Careers webpage or contact Kristin Nottingham at knottingham@agvance.net.

We are also in need of mentors for the students. Each student is paired with an AgGateway mentor, with whom they will attend the various conference presentations and meetings. This is an important role in order to give the student insight into what a professional conference entails. Please contact Kristin Nottingham at knottingham@agvance.net if you are interested in becoming a mentor.
