AgGateway Seeks a Content Manager

AgGateway is seeking a Content Manager who will be responsible for managing the discoverability and availability of AgGateway's digital resources. The Content Manager is a part-time, contracted role which works closely with the Chief Technology Officer (CTO), and the Director of Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities

As the industry transitions to digital agriculture, it is imperative that companies implement global, industry standards. A key factor to implementation is making sure companies and their developers know what standards and other digital resources are available and how to immediately access them. AgGateway has a wealth of digital resources, and continues to develop such resources, so a critical part of the AgGateway mission is to make sure these resources are easy to find and implement.

The Content Manager will:

  • Create, develop and socialize categorization and relationship maps (i.e., taxonomies) for AgGateway digital resources, including descriptions, context and uses, and explanations of how specific resources relate to others;
  • Manage access to AgGateway digital resources (e.g., public access, members-only access);
  • Ensure consistency of terminology and references to digital resources across the main AgGateway website and the wiki;
  • Work with the website manager for updates to the main AgGateway website and make direct wiki updates or work with AgGateway volunteers to make them;
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to ensure consistent branding of digital resources;
  • Work with the Director of Marketing and Communications to identify ways to promote awareness of additions or improvements in AgGateway's digital resources;
  • Develop templates and guidelines for digital resource representation;
  • Develop templates and guidelines for wiki content creation;
  • Develop guidelines for wiki content management;
  • Evaluate changing ways stakeholders look for and consume digital resource content and recommend action as needed to respond to such changes.

  • Microsoft Office experience
  • Experience using or implementing Information Architecture principles, SEO tools, and User Experience design principles
  • Ability to understand the perspectives of others
