Member Services Update

Member Activities and AGIIS Updates at Mid-Year Meeting

By Chris Crutchfield, Member Services Program Manager

For the first time in two years, AgGateway will be meeting in person for our Mid-Year Meeting, June 13-16 at Prairie Meadows Hotel and Casino in Altoona, IA! I am excited to announce that Member Services and the AGIIS team will be hosting several education and working sessions around AgGateway, AgGateway resources, and the Ag Industry Identification System (AGIIS).

First, a few thoughts on the meeting itself. Unlike some events where you show up and sit, the Mid-Year Meeting is most valuable when you are fully engaged, and that requires some advance preparation. Come to sessions with your questions, challenges, and concerns written out. Use down time during breaks, meals, and receptions to schedule one on one discussions with people you need to see. Don’t waste a minute!

Now, here are seven sessions and activities you should consider as you plan your week:

  1. Beginning Monday, June 13 from 10:30 – 11:30 AM, Member Services will present AgGateway 101! In this session, you will learn more about AgGateway, how we operate, and how we collaborate through our working groups to design and publish digital resources for the Ag industry.
  2. Also on Monday, Member Services and the Conference Committee will be hosting the First Time Attendee Luncheon for those attendees who are new to AgGateway face to face meetings. This is a great opportunity to meet new members and learn more about AgGateway and the various sessions offered throughout the week. This session is by invitation only.
  3. Later, from 3:00 – 4:00 PM, Josh Wall, AGIIS Product Manager, will facilitate, How to Best Utilize AGIIS for B2B Integrations. He will address such questions as, “How to obtain Industry Identifiers and how to keep them updated in both AGIIS and your internal systems”. If you are considering embarking on a B2B project soon, or would like to strengthen your current process, this session is for you!
  4. Finally, on Monday, from 4:00 – 5:00 PM, Chris Crutchfield, Member Services Program Manager, will be hosting Wiki 101. In this session you will learn how to use our collaboration tool to find resources, create and manage working documents, view and create meeting agendas, add meeting minutes, and more! This session is open to anyone looking to better understand and utilize the AgGateway wiki.
  5. On Tuesday, June 14, from 9:00 – 10:00 AM, Josh Wall will lead the session, AGIIS – What’s New? This session will discuss the latest AGIIS enhancements and initiatives and provide instruction on how to request an enhancement to the Ag Industry Identification System. Have an idea to make AGIIS even better? Bring your ideas to this session! This session is open to all.
  6. On Wednesday, the AGIIS Directory Oversight Committee will be meeting to conduct our monthly meeting. Currently this session is scheduled from 10:30 – 11:30 AM but is subject to change. Join us to experience how this governing body maintains and supports the AGIIS directory. This session is open to anyone that would like to attend.
  7. Member Services – Live! - Throughout the week, representatives from Member Services will be on hand to help answer any questions you have about AgGateway, AgGateway resources, and AGIIS. The Member Services team will be stationed near the registration desk and will be there to provide you the support you need. This is a great opportunity to get one on one help with just about anything! This is also a great opportunity for you to review your contact information on file with us and provide updates to your personal or company profile.

In addition to the sessions outlined here, there are many more that will surely be of interest, and you can get more details from the full agenda linked here. As I said earlier, planning delivers value. So get prepared, lock in, and I will see you soon in Altoona!
