AgGateway in the Spotlight at ConBAP and ICPA

By Jose Alexandre Loyola, Region Director

July was a very eventful and exciting month for AgGateway Latin America, and for the agriculture technology industry as a whole.

As is tradition, the annual Brazilian Congress of Precision Agriculture (ConBAP) was held last month in Porto Alegre/RS. But what made the event historic was that it took place alongside the International Conference on Precision Agriculture (ICPA), marking the first time the international conference had been hosted outside of North America.

Event Highlights:

  • Global Reach: Brazilian agriculture was proud to welcome the world – more than 850 participants attended, with approximately 30% coming from outside Brazil, featuring high-level presentations from experts across the US, Europe, China, and Latin America.
  • AgGateway's Global Presence: AgGateway hosted a booth at the event and featured a special visit from Global President and CEO Brent Kemp. The Center of Competence in Digital Agriculture (CEDRA) invited Brent to deliver a presentation focused on data interoperability and standardization in agriculture.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Two additional presentations on AgGateway's work in the region were delivered – one to members of the Tecnopuc Celeiro Hub (at PUC-RS) and another at CEDRA headquarters in São Leopoldo.

Participation in the event reinforced AgGateway's commitment to strengthening its presence in Latin America, empowering the industry and producers to exchange and analyze data more quickly and effectively for better decision-making.

Special thanks to AsBraAP and ICPA for organizing an outstanding program, and to the teams at TecnoPUC Celeiro and CEDRA for the invitations and partnership.
