It is often said that all good things must come to an end, and some once-popular Windows Embedded Operating Systems are about to become a thing of the past as newer, cutting-edge systems steal the spotlight. Microsoft has announced that it is going to start phasing out support for the Windows Embedded Handheld and Windows CE operating systems that are used on many mobile devices. These systems have long been popular with handheld devices, particularly the more rugged ones, so this is something to keep in mind when switching to new devices.
