Gateway to Ag Careers

In Search of Nominees

By Kristin Nottingham, Software Solutions Integrated, LLC

The Conference Committee is actively looking for participants for the Gateway to Ag Careers program. A limited number of students will be offered grants to attend the AgGateway Annual Conference in San Diego, Calif., this November. As you look around your office this summer, keep in mind any interns who have shown strong initiative and ambition and would be a good fit for this valuable opportunity. Student attendees will gain insight into “real world” applications and awareness of the various opportunities available within participating AgGateway companies.

Nominating a student is easy! Simply visit the Gateway to Ag Careers web page, and download the application form. Submit this information to Kristin Nottingham at knottingham@agvance.net along with a paragraph of why you nominated the student and a one-page essay from the student explaining what he or she hopes to gain from attending the conference. Nominations are due September 15, 2017. A selection committee will then review the nominations and determine the grant winners.

Additionally, sponsorships are being accepted for the Gateway to Ag Careers program. These sponsorships help cover travel expenses and conference registrations for the awarded students. This grant is dependent on sponsorships, and without your help, we would not be able to invite students to the conference.

If you would like more information for a prospective student or about becoming a sponsor, please contact Kristin Nottingham at knottingham@agvance.net.
