”Dean of Big Data” to Deliver Compelling Keynote

The AgGateway Conference Committee is pleased to welcome renowned data expert Bill Schmarzo, who will be presenting on the general session stage the morning of Tuesday, June 11 at the Mid-Year Meeting.

Schmarzo's presentation, “Mastering the Economics of Data and Analytics,” will explore the reality of data's rise in prominence within industries and businesses and asks the question, "If data is the new oil in driving the economic growth of the 21st century, then how effective is your organization at leveraging data and analytics to derive and drive new sources of business and operational value?"

Well-known across the technology industry as the "Dean of Big Data," Bill is currently part of Dell Technology’s SPEAR AI leadership, where he is responsible for working with customers to help build the cross-organizational alignment in developing their business-centric AI and data strategies.

Bill is the former Chief Innovation Officer at Hitachi Vantara where he was responsible for driving Hitachi Vantara’s Data Science and “co-creation” efforts. He was selected for Hitachi Limited’s 2020 Solution Innovation Award for his ground-breaking work in data science and Automated Machine Learning. He's authored five books and has taught at universities for many years, including most recently at Iowa State University.
