Look for These Five Stellar Students Next Week at Conference!

Congratulations to Colton Schlemme, Katie O’Brien, Lauren Sendelbach, Maria Naverrete and Trey Colley, winners of the Gateway to Ag Careers grant! These five students are invited to attend the Annual Conference next week in San Diego!

Colton Schlemme, a senior at Iowa State University, is majoring in Agricultural Business. He has held multiple internships during his undergraduate career and most recently worked with Prudential Agricultural Investments as an investment analyst intern in Chicago.

Katie O’Brien, a senior at Kansas State University, is majoring in Agribusiness with an Animal Science minor. This past summer she interned with John Deere with the Digital Business Development team. Katie is the current Career Chair for the National Agri-Marketing Association and is an active member of the Collegiate Cattlewomen’s club.   

Lauren Sendelbach is a senior at Iowa State University majoring in Agricultural Business and Economics. She recently generated a mentorship program between her peers, underclassmen and leaders in the agriculture industry through the Iowa State Agricultural Business Club. This past summer Katie interned with Kramp, an agricultural eCommerce business in the Netherlands and has accepted a full-time position with the company.

Maria Navarrete is a junior majoring in Business Technology at Arizona State University. She is a member of GlobalResolve, a club that works on engineering based service projects for local and abroad communities. They are currently working with an agricultural community in Peru to install a water filtration system and to upgrade their water distribution.

Trey Colley is currently in the Master’s program at Ohio State University working as a Graduate Research Assistant in Food, Agricultural and Biological Engineering. This past summer he interned with the Ohio State Precision Ag program, where he worked on research and educational projects related to digital agriculture. During this internship, he initiated a project where they attempted to collect the most data ever for a single corn plant while evaluating the digital tools that generate the data.

Thank you to the Ag CIO group for sponsoring this great program and making it possible for these students to attend! The goal of this program is to generate excitement and energy within these students as they continue to pursue careers in their respective fields. While at the conference, please reach out to the students to help them feel welcome and congratulate them on receiving the grant!
