AI and the Problems Worth Solving

Among the dozens of websites that insist I need more AI-related content in my life, LinkedIn recently caught my attention. After a bit of scrolling, it served me a Photoshop tutorial on using AI features to edit a photo of a broken plate. Commentors focused on “working smarter, not harder” and how well the AI selected textures to seamlessly fill the void where the broken and missing pieces of the plate had been. I couldn’t help but think it was a poor use of time when there was surely an undamaged plate that could have been photographed. Read more >



Portfolio Update

Setting Priorities for a Busy Second Half

This year’s mid-year meeting in North America was a little different and a great success. Based on member feedback we tweaked the agenda to focus more on time for discussions and networking and fewer working group or topic specific sessions. This was great from the perspective of the Portfolio Management Center. The roundtable discussions along with a few other sessions surfaced a variety of new topics and issues the members are facing and interested in addressing. We will be working on refining the topics and identifying project leaders, so be on the lookout for next steps and further communications soon. Read more >

AGIIS Disaster Recovery Exercise: Practicing for the Unexpected

On Friday, July 24, AgGateway and DXC Technology will begin the annual AGIIS disaster recovery exercise. This is an important opportunity to test how quickly and effectively AGIIS services can be restored if the unexpected occurs. During the exercise, DXC Technology, AGIIS’s service provider, will simulate an extended outage at the primary hosting location and move operations to the backup hosting site. Read more >
