LinkedIn Group Featured Topic: Retaining Membership?

By J. Nolfo, BASF and Communications Committee Chair

Did you know that AgGateway has a LinkedIn group? The purpose of the group is to share great content, articles and other types of information that others within the group, especially AgGateway members, would be interested in. LinkedIn groups are also a great place to pose questions for the members to answer.

At the Mid-Year Meeting, the Membership Committee asked how they could better utilize the LinkedIn group. One of the suggestions that came out was to ask questions to increase engagement in the LinkedIn group. A couple of questions have been asked, and we will be featuring them in the AgGateway newsletter to let everyone know about them.

This month’s featured question comes from Denice Foster, Chair of the Membership Committee: “The Membership Committee is looking into ways to retain members. What suggestions could you offer?”

Have an idea or suggestion? Post it on the group at https://www.linkedin.com/groups/8544964/8544964-6303655760568082433

If you are not a member of the group, you won’t be able to post, but joining is easy! Just click on the “Ask to Join” button, and someone from the Social Media Working Group will approve you. You will get notified of the approval, and then you can answer the question.

While you are there, invite to the group your first degree LinkedIn connections who might see value in the AgGateway Group. They do not even need to be AgGateway member organizations or participants. In fact, I would suggest that if they are not, that would be better! You can also add content that is related to AgGateway, any of our councils, agriculture, or data connectivity.
