Call for Nominations: Ron Storms Leadership Award

Is there a veteran AgGateway leader whose work you've really admired at AgGateway? It may be someone on the board of directors, steering committee, or within a working group, committee or project team that you think goes above and beyond the call of duty, and really keeps things moving. Finally, is this someone who has been involved with AgGateway for at least two years as a member volunteer (not staff), and has he or she demonstrated their leadership in more than one place, on more than one activity?

If so, help us recognize that exemplary leadership and nominate them now for the AgGateway Ron Storms Leadership Award. Nominations are due Friday, September 17. Details are available here. It's not hard to make a nomination and requires just a few minutes of your time. Recent past winners include Ann Vande Lune, Eric Hoefing, Joe Tevis and Randy Fry. Read more >

Quarterly Portfolio Reviews Coming

I’m pleased to announce that we will begin holding quarterly conference calls as an additional way to keep the membership informed about working group activities. We’re launching the updates based on feedback from AgGateway members who attended the design thinking sessions during Education & Action Week.

The sessions will be open to all members and will be scheduled each year for January, April, June (during the Mid-Year Meeting), September and November (at the Annual Conference). Our first portfolio review will be scheduled for September; we’ll be announcing the date and time soon. In addition, we will set up twice-yearly sessions for working group chairs and others to specifically look at areas of cross-over and leverage. Read more >

Latin America

AgGateway and ConectarAGRO Link Arms

By José Alexandre Loyola, AgGateway Latin America Regional Director

We’re pleased to announce that ConectarAGRO has become a member of AgGateway, and AgGateway has, in turn, joined ConectarAGRO as a supporting member. ConectarAGRO is an association that aims to promote technological solutions, such as LTE 4G 700 MHz, to stimulate the expansion of internet access in the most diverse agricultural regions in Brazil. The association was formed by companies including AGCO, Climate, CNH Industrial, Jacto, Nokia, Solinftec, Tim and Trimble.

As our members in the Latin America region focus on connectivity and move forward with projects, ConectarAgro will certainly contribute greatly by fostering discussion of connectivity topics with other professionals in the sector, helping define and pursue the main challenges and opportunities in this area.

Does your company have operations or interest in Latin America? Let me know if you would like more information or want to be involved, by contacting me through Member Services at Member.Services@AgGateway.org.
