AgGateway 2020

Delivering on Our Mission

[The following is excerpted from the General Session presentation at Mid-Year Meeting on June 11.]

The Strategic Board began looking at the AgGateway structure in 2018. We were asking ourselves, what does this organization need to look like in 2020 for AgGateway to address the dynamic needs of the industry in transitioning to digital agriculture? And how do we remain the “go-to” resource for industry collaboration and transformation? Read more >

Resource Development

New AgGateway Structure and Resource Development Policy Designed to Increase Efficiency, Information-Sharing and Participation

A primary reason AgGateway is reorganizing in 2020 is to speed the process of creating and implementing new digital resources. A big first step is the launch next month (August 1) of our new digital resource development process and the associated new patent policy. The digital resource development process will be managed through two oversight groups that are part of the AgGateway 2020 structure. The new process will be operating in a transitional phase until January 2020: Read more >

Welcome Nexyst 360

Nexyst 360 is a mobile solution to crop storage and marketing. Crops are loaded in the Nexbox at the field and never leave the box until they reach their destination. This creates traceability to the field of origin, preserves quality of the crop, reduces capital expenditures and expenses throughout the entire supply chain, while allowing producers to develop relationships with customers. AgGateway Activities

Quick Synopsis of AgGateway’s Current Work

By AgGateway Communications Director Susan Ruland

We recently prepared a high-level overview of AgGateway activities, which we distributed at the Mid-Year Meeting. This summary is project-specific – from ADAPT and Aerial Imagery to Seed Transfer and Traceability. It does not include ongoing great work being done by AgGateway committees and other groups. And if we’ve missed something, let us know! Find the flyer here.

If you are interested in learning more or getting involved in any of these activities, email us at Member.Services@AgGateway.org.

AgGateway Family Time: Sharing Information with Members

Summer is the time of year we often spend more time with family. If you have kids or grandkids, they are out of school with way too much time on their hands. It’s the ideal time for those long car rides and lasting memories. And many look forward to the iconic family reunion, which showcases the best of your family from food to stories – and most of all the people who represent who you are and where you are from.

AgGateway just had its own “family reunion” at the Mid-Year Meeting. Our members gathered to share stories and enjoy the opportunity to re-connect face-to-face. But our focus wasn’t on graduations, weddings and personal well-being, but rather on the ways individuals with common interests are collaborating to expand the use of information through digital agriculture. Call for Nominations

Ron Storms Leadership Award

Is there a veteran AgGateway leader whose work you've really admired at AgGateway? It may be someone on the Strategic or Operations Board, or within your council, committee or project team that you think goes above and beyond the call of duty, and really keeps things moving. Finally, is this someone who has been involved with AgGateway for at least two years as a member volunteer (not staff), and has he or she demonstrated their leadership in more than one place, on more than one activity?

If so, help us recognize that exemplary leadership and nominate them now for the AgGateway Ron Storms Leadership Award. Nominations are due September 20. Details are available here. It's not hard to make a nomination and requires just a few minutes of your time. Read more >
