Exciting Plans for Upcoming Quick Connect Session

By Susan Ruland AgGateway Communications Director

Seeking to implement further connections between trading partners, and following the success of the “Seed Quick Connect” session at Annual Conference last fall, an AgGateway task force has been meeting to organize a similar session at the upcoming Mid-Year Meeting in Altoona, Iowa, June 11-14. The goal: Provide face-to-face sessions in which trading partners can plot out next steps in making key electronic connections within the next 12-24 months – between distributors, manufacturers and/or ag retailers – and with the active participation of companies’ software vendors. These connections will streamline transactions in such areas as booking, delivery, invoicing and inventory management, to cut costs, and to boost efficiency, accuracy and productivity. Read more...

Precision Ag Irrigation Gets Major Boost as AgGateway Releases Proposed Standard to ASABE for National Review

Recent AgGateway Press Release

AGIIS Update

How You Can Help Maintain Data Quality in AGIIS

By Chris Crutchfield  AgGateway Member Services

February marked the completion of the annual maintenance on AgGateway’s Ag Industry Identification System (AGIIS) service, with the successful inactivation of duplicate entities. Back in December, we performed address standardization, Locatable Address Conversion System, National Change of Address, area code split, and GLN reuse maintenance to the database.

Each year, when these maintenance activities are complete, we take the opportunity to analyze the updates to AGIIS resulting from annual maintenance. From this analysis, we have been able to recognize areas for system and process improvement, helping to ensure that only quality data makes its way into the database. Read more...

Farmers: Are You Tired of Tech? Agriculture.com, Mar 21, 2018 - Says Rob Trice, founder of Mixing Bowl: “…a lot of the solutions being brought to market may not be fully baked or may not live up to the bill of goods that was sold to you, which creates frustration…Big data won’t work unless there are data transfer solutions to take data from the field to the cloud. We need multiple growers to develop the conditions for ag tech success, like adopting cross-device data sharing schema such as AgGateway and codeveloping solutions with start-ups in shared risk/reward models. We need to crawl before we can walk – and we need to do so together.”
